Hit Splitwise's daily expense limit on a trip?

Since late 2023, Splitwise's free plan caps how many expenses you can add in a day, and adds a wait timer ¹. On a normal week that's fine. On a trip, where the cab, breakfast, entry tickets, lunch, petrol and dinner all happen on one day, it isn't.

Why trips hit it

A group of six on a Goa weekend can easily make six or more shared spends a day. Reviewers say the same: "Can't add more than 2 expenses a day. What if I paid like 6-7 bills a day?" ²

Four ways around it

1. Pay for Splitwise Pro. It removes the limit. In India it's ₹2,499 a year ³, which is a lot for two or three trips.
2. Batch the day. One person keeps a note and adds a single "Day 2" expense at night. Cheap, but nobody can check the details, and exclusions (who skipped dinner) get lost.
3. A shared sheet. Works for spreadsheet people; everyone else won't open it until the end.
